In 1971, comedian Lily Tomlin was impressed by the work of writer Jane Wagner. Tomlin asked Wagner to collaborate on her upcoming comedy special, And That’s The Truth. Soon, romance blossomed and they fell madly in love. Since Tomlin and Wagner didn’t formally come out as a couple, it didn’t make headlines in the 70s. For the most part, writers would refer to Wagner as Tomlin’s collaborator.
After 42 years together, Tomlin and Wagner married in 2013. Additionally, Wagner and Tomlin often work together. In 1985, Wagner wrote the critically acclaimed one-woman show The Search for Signs of Intelligence Life in the Universe, starring Tomlin.

Furthermore, Sykes and Niedbalski had fraternal twins Olivia and Lucas in 2009.
5. Megan Rapinoe and Sue Bird

Dominating the NWSL and WNBA respectively, Megan Rapinoe and Sue Bird are two of the most successful female athletes. As a couple they’re highly influential as they break down barriers. Bird spent her entire career playing for the Seattle Storm, winning four WNBA Championships and five Olympic Gold medals with the United States national team.
Not to be outdone, Rapinoe’s the captain for OL Reigns and the women’s national team. She led the team to a Gold medal at the London Olympics and two FIFA World Cups.

6. Sarah Paulson and Holland Taylor

12. Dorothy Louise “Del” Martin and Phyllis Lyon
Dorothy Louise “Del” Maring and Phyllis Lyon are one of the most important lesbian couples in history. Martin and Lyon met in the early 50s while working for the same Seattle magazine. By Valentine’s Day 1953, they had moved in together in an apartment on historic Castro Street in San Francisco.
Together they formed the first lesbian political and civil rights group, Daughters of Bilitis. They also both acted as editors for The Ladder newspaper. They remained influential gay activists for the remainder of their lives. They initially married in 2004, but the state voided the marriage. Finally, they officially married in August 2008. Sadly, Martin died two months later.

13. Ashlyn Harris and Ali Krieger
